Count of Eu Gaston d'Orléans (circa 1882)


French prince and military commander, and the first son of Louis, Duke of Nemours, and Princess Viktoria of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. He fought in the Spanish-Moroccan War and the Paraguayan War. Gaston was the Imperial consort of Brazil through his marriage to Princess Isabel, heiress to the Brazilian throne. They had four sons.

He died of natural causes on 28 August 1922, aged 80, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
