Biography
French stage and film actor, who appeared in over 200 movies and worked with such renowned directors as Bertrand Blier, Costa-Gavras, Luc Besson (for Subway), and Jean-Luc Godard.
He won a Cesar for best actor thanks to his role in "Le Juge et l'Assassin", inspired by famous French serial killer Joseph Vacher and directed by Bertrand Tavernier, and a "Molière" in 2008. He studied theatre in Montpellier with Albert Reyval as teacher.
With his second wife, Claude, who died in August 2015, he has a daughter, Emmanuelle (actress), born in 1976.
