Biography

French track cycling racer, he won the 1930 amateur world title and 3 silver medals (and 2 bronze) as a professional. After Marcel Cerdan's death, he was Edith Piaf's lover (before she married singer Jacques Pills). Piaf sent him several letters which were auctioned in 2009.

Nicknamed "Toto Gérardin", he coached Daniel Morelon, Olympic champion.
