Biography

Italian television presenter who started his career in 1980, chosen through audition to host the children's program "Il barattolo." He later hosted several successful TV-programs, including the Saturday night show "Scommettiamo che?," "I fatti vostri," "Domenica in" and several editions of Miss Italia. In 2015, he was appointed Commendatore della Repubblica by President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano.

He is also the official Italian voice of Woody the Cowboy, one of the main characters in the famous Pixar "Toy Story" franchise.

Long married with the ten-year-older Rita Dalla Chiesa, he later married his second wife, the nearly 25-years-younger TV presenter Carlotta Mantovan, whom he had known during the 2001 selections of Miss Italia.

Frizzi suffered a cerebral haemorrhage in October 2017, which led him to take a break from work, but he returned to host the Rai show L'Eredità in December of the same year. In the early hours of 26 March 2018, he suffered another cerebral haemorrhage which this time proved to be fatal. He was 60 years old.
