Biography
French-Moroccan football (soccer) player born to a Spanish mother, best known for being the record holder for most goals scored in a single edition of the FIFA World Cup, with 13 in 1958.Nicknamed Justo, he was surnamed "Le canonnier" (Gunner). He played as forward for the prestigious "Stade de Reims" which reached the final of the European Cup (1958-59).
He played just before Pelé's generation and had to retire at the age of 29 (wounded). He died on 1st March 2023 in Toulouse, at the age of 89.
