Biography

American noted family, the heiress to the Folger Coffee fortune and a debutante, formally introduced into polite society on 21 February 1961. She was educated at the Catalina School for Girls in Carmel, California, at Radcliffe College, and with some graduate work at Harvard. After working at U.C. Berkeley LA Art Museum in 1967, she moved to Los Angeles in 1968 where she worked as a volunteer social worker for the Welfare Dept.

After midnight on 9 August 1969, while visiting Sharon Tate, she was murdered by members of the Charles Manson family, stabbed 28 times in the chest and neck, a victim through no fault, only that she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
