Mary Bosanquet Fletcher (2 January 1815)

Biography

English deaconess in the early Methodist movement. She married Reverend John Fletcher and was a close friend of John Wesley. Her correspondence with him survives. She died on 8 December 1815.

Sy Scholfield quotes her in "The life of mrs. Mary Fletcher" by Henry Moore (J. Kershaw, 1824), p. 370: "Sept. 12. — At eight o'clock this morning I was solemnly struck with the thought, — I am at this hour, (the time I have been told I was born,) seventy-one years of age."
