Biography
Swiss architect, planer, university teacher and public official. He studied architecture at ETH Züruch, then, in 1960, went to Cairo, as archaeologist at the Swiss Institute for Research of Ancient Egyptian Architecture. 1964–79 he was owner of an office for urban design and town and country planning in Zürich, projects in Europe and Africa. He was elected and became 1979–92 state architect of Basel. Since 1992 he is consultant for urban planning, design and architecture in Austria, China, Croatia, Czechia, Germany, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxemburg, Nigeria, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia and Switzerland.
