German composer of popular dance music, military marches, piano pieces and arrangements. He had over 200 compositions to his name. His best known work is his waltz "Mondnacht auf der Alster" Op. 60 which is still immensely popular to the present day. He died on 10 January 1931, Hamburg.

Februar 1854 wurde Oscar Fetrás unter seinem bürgerlichen Namen Otto Friedrich Faster, laut Taufregister (lfd. Nr. 97) der St.-Petri-Kirche, abends elfeinhalb Uhr auf St. Pauli, Alsterwall Nr. 26, geboren (Staatsarchiv Hamburg)."

Translation: On February 16, 1854, Oscar Fetraś under his real name Otto Friedrich Faster, according to the baptismal register (No. 97) of St. Peter's Church, was born "at eleven-thirty in the evening" at St. Pauli, Alster Wall No. 26 (Hamburg State Archives).
