Biography
Dutch National Socialist politician, WW2 Eastern front veteran and war criminal.
He studied physics and mathematics at the University of Groningen (1928-35), but quitted the study for a career in politics.
In 1932 he had joined the Dutch National Socialist NSB party and in 1935 he became a member of the "Völkische" wing that idealised a presumed agricultural Germanic culture (Blood and Soil ideology), that was spoiled by the Jews. His idea was that the Dutch should unite with the the Germany of Adolf Hitler to create with military efforts the Third Reich.
The Dutch NSB leader Mussert on the contrary, preferred non violent political solutions for the Netherlands, independent of Germany and hated the ideology of the SS of the Greater Germanic Reich.
In 1939 Feldmeijer erected the Mussert Guard, a Dutch analogue of the SS: young men of Aryan descent got a military and ideological training. During the German occupation, the influential Höhere SS- und Polizeiführer Rauter, saw Feldmeijer as the ideal person to lead the political Dutch SS. The Dutch SS members became indoctrinated and were encouraged to join the Waffen SS operating in the Eastern front, to save the West from the danger of Bolsjewism. Feldmeijer also engaged in was decorated for several operation at the Eastern front. See source for dates.
Feldmeijer was a member of the Sonderkommando-Feldmeijer between September 1943 and September 1944, and executed at least 20 innocent people for resistance activities of others in an retaliatory operation named Silbertanne Aktion. Mussert and Carp were opposed to these war crimes and could stop them September 1944 .
While driving to his position at the front, his car was strafed by an Allied fighter plane. But other sources spoke of a liquidation by his own men.
