Biography
French film actor, known for his strong onscreen personality, wonderful broken voice, and perfect diction. His 79 films include The Darling of Paris (1931), Casanova (1934) and Rome Express (1950).
He was also an accomplished clarinetist, and the author of several songs and skits he performed onstage early in his career.
On 26 November 1925 in Paris he married Suzanne Marie Benoist who died in 1957.
He died on 24 October 1961, aged 77, in Montgeron, Seine et Oise, France.
