Biography
Italian astronomer and historian, who was the author of numerous scientific works, mainly concerning the history of astronomy, and scientific dissemination. After graduating from Astronomy at the University of Rome, he became an Ordinary Professor of Astronomy in the same university in 1938.
As a scientific publisher, he wrote numerous astronomical articles in the column "From the Astronomical Notebook of Pio Emanuelli" in the monthly Coelum Astronomia. From 1930 he was also the holder of another astronomical divulgation book, Corriere della Sera.
He died in Rome on 2 July 1946, aged 57. In 1997 the asteroid 11145 Emanuelli was named in his honour.
