Biography
German officer, the last major general in World War II. He ordered the largest capitulation on the Western Front, on 15 September 1944, surrendering himself and 20,000 troops to the USA, saving many lives.
Botho Henning Elster died on 24 June 1952 in Böblingen, aged 58.
