Grand Duchess of Oldenburg Elisabeth (1864)


German duchess, who, by marriage to Grand Duke Peter II, became Grand Duchess of Oldenburg.

Princess Elisabeth was a daughter of Joseph, Duke of Saxe-Altenburg and his wife Duchess Amelia of Württemberg.

On 10 February 1852, Elisabeth married her second cousin Peter, who would succeed his father the following year as Grand Duke. They had two sons.

Princess Elisabeth died on 2 February 1896, aged 69, in Oldenburg.
