Biography
Norwegian journalist and writer. As a student at the University of Oslo during World War II he was one of the so-called "Tysklandsstudentene" ('the German students') - approx. 650 male students at the University of Oslo who was placed in German concentration camps from December 1943 to the end of the war in May 1945.
In the fall of 1943 he was arrested, interned, and deported to Germany. Eidem worked as a journalist at the newspaper Dagbladet from 1950 to 1990. His brother was journalist Odd Eidem.
Eidem died on 11 January 2009, aged 90.
