Biography

American astronomer and professor at the University of Texas, Austin.

Edmonds served in the US Air Force during WWII; in 1946 he returned to school, the University of Chicago, from which he earned his Ph.D. He was promoted to Professor at the University of Texas at Austin in 1965. Ill health forced his retirement in 1984.

He and his wife had two children.

Edmonds died on 3 September 1986, a day after his 67th birthday, at his Texas home.
