Edmond Decottignies (1924)


French weightlifter who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics where he won a gold medal in the lightweight class. He became French champion in 1921, 1923, and 1924.

He died on 3 June 1963 at age 69 in Nord. The annual international tournament "Mémorial Edmond Decottignies" is held in Comines in his honour.
