Biography
American award-winning screenwriter and newspaper reporter for the Hollywood Citizen News in the mid-1940s.
She won a 1967 Writers Guild of America Award for Television: Episodic Drama for the Court Martial episode "Judge Them Gently;" a 1980 Saturn Award for Best Writing for the film The Black Hole and a 1980 Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation for The Black Hole.
A devout Catholic, Day became a Eucharist minister in her church. She also raised foster children and supported equestrian causes. She died in Los Angeles on 13 February 2013 at age 91 after a long battle with cancer.
