Biography
French resistance fighter during the Second World War.
Appointed a sub-prefect, he participated in ministerial offices and subsequently became not only a prefect but also a writer. He was the last police prefect of Algiers, engaged in a struggle against the OAS. After Algerian independence, he helped to rebuild Franco-Algerian relations.
He died on 6 April 1999 in La Redorte.
