Belgian entrepreneur, he entered the firm of his brother-in-law Alfred Renard, and in 1888 he took over this wholesale company specializing in the sale of colonial foodstuffs and, in 1921, he transformed it into an S.A., Les Établissements Achille Courthéoux, which became one of the major food wholesalers in the south and east of the country. A few months before his death, he created a second S.A., Les Nouveaux Établissements Achille Courthéoux.

Affiliated with the liberal party, he was mayor of Couvin from 1921 until his death.

On 9 October 1893 he married Juliette Courthéoux-Yernaux. They had three children, including Achille Courthéoux and Paul Courthéoux. He died on 7 October 1922 in Couvin at age 66.
