Biography

Chilean painter of the Grupo Montparnasse who in 1974 became the first painter to win the National Prize of Art of Chile.

She went to Paris in 1925 to study and in 1928 returned to Chile and joined the teaching staff of the University of Chile as its first female professor.

She died on 5 January 1998, aged 102.
