Mexican actor in films, theatre and telenovelas (soap operas), who eventually became one of the most popular actors in Mexican cinema.

He was the brother of the composer Víctor Cordero Aurrecoechea.

Joaquín Cordero died of heart problems on 19 February 2013 in a clinic in Mexico City, aged 89.
