Data collector Philippe Lepoivre is the owner and operator of the French company Astrothème.

His website is known for somewhat uncritical publication of all kinds of information it receives, so there remains doubt about the reliability of data which quote anonymous emails from the general public.

In some cases, references to birth times in printed biographies could not be verified by research in the very same books (example: Hugh Jackman).

Still, Astrodatabank assumes that the reliability has been improved recently (2014), as Lepoivre has started to quote sources for recently added data, while in the past most of his data had been published without reference to any source.
