Belgian poet and painter, a noted member of his country's Surrealist group. In 1934 he met the Surrealists René Magritte, Louis Scutenaire and E. L. T. Mesens. In 1935 he participated in "The surrealist exhibition" at La Louvière. In 1936 at Brussels he published several poems set to music.

In 1945 Paul Colinet edited the weekly Le Ciel Bleu and contributed to La terre n'est pas une vallée de larmes then, in 1946 and 1947, to the review Les deux sœurs by Christian Dotremont, as well as to the review Les Quatre Vents.

Paul Colinet died in Brussels on 23 December 1957 at age 59.
