Biography

Austrian countess, the illegitimate daughter of Charles de Ligne (1759-1792) and Adélaïde Delligni. Affectionately called "Titine" in the diaries and letters of her family, she was legitimated in 1810 by her grandfather Charles-Joseph, 7th Prince of Ligne (1735-1814). She married Comte Maurice O’Donnell de Tyrconnell (German: Moritz Graf O’Donnell von Tyrconnell; 1780–1843), an Austro-Irish count born in Vienna. They lived in Pressburg (now Bratislava, Slovakia) and had two sons: Maximilian Karl Lamoral Graf O'Donnell von Tyrconnell, who saved the life of Emperor Franz Josef I of Austria in 1853; and Maurice, Jr, Moritz O'Donnell. Christine died on 19 May 1867.

Source Notes

Translation: A document from the archives of the nobility in Vienna will prove this: "On the fourth of January 1786 was baptized Fanni Christine Claudine, born on the same day at eight in the morning to Miss Adelaide Delligni."
