Ernie Cheatham

Biography

United States Marine Corps officer, a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War, a recipient of the Navy Cross, and American football defensive tackle who played for the Baltimore Colts (1954) and the Pittsburgh Steelers (1951-1954). Nicknamed 'Big Ernie,' he stood at 6 ft 4 in (1.93 m) and weighed 255 lb (116 kg). He died on 14 June 2014, aged 84, in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
