Charles the Bold of France

French aristocracy, the last of the Dukes of Burgundy. Although he had formed a coalition in 1465 against King Louis XI, he fought next to him to repress a revolt. Eager to gain more territories, he annexed a province of the Netherlands in 1473 and sought to conquer the Dukedom of Lorraine; after a first victory, he was finally defeated and killed in Nancy on 1/05/1477.
