Biography
Peruvian soccer player, recognized as one of Peru's most important midfielders. Known as Maestro (Master) or Niño Terrible (Enfant terrible), Chale is best remembered for his great performance in the 1970 World Cup qualifying match against Argentina on 30 August 1969, which sent Peru to the finals.
He earned 48 caps and scored 4 goals for the Peru national football team, and played in the 1970 FIFA World Cup, where he scored 1 goal and Peru reached the quarterfinals.
