Nací pues, circunstancialmente, en el pueblecito del Huauco, como hubiera podido nacer en Moscú, Pekín, New York, París, Roma o Madrid."
Translation: It can truly be said that I was born against my will and against my desire of not wanting to be born, at 6 pm, with tribulation and in an hour of blasphemy, an ashamed hour ... an immoral hour. I was born, incidentally, in the village of Huauco, as one would have been born in Moscow, Beijing, New York, Paris, Rome or Madrid.
He was born in the village of Huauco (now called Sucre), located in the Province of Celendin Cajamarca, Peru.
