Source Notes
Sy Scholfield quotes from "New Studies on Giovanni da Cavino" by Giovanni Gorini, Studies in the History of Art, Vol. 21, Symposium Papers VIII: Italian Medals (1987), pp. 45-54: "He was born in Padua on 16 May 1500 at 10:00 p.m." (p. 45); "1570. Cavino died 5 September 1570" (p. 53).
The Florentine Calendar was in operation but because the time is given as "10 p.m." it has presumably been converted.
