Canadian actor best known for his performances on Broadway in Parade as Leo Frank and Kiss of the Spider Woman as Molina, for which he won the Tony Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical in 1993. He won the Canadian Film Award 1978 for Best Actor for One Night Stand (1978). He was known in Stratford and Toronto theatres for his moving performances in such stage productions as Bent, Foxfire and Long Days Journey Into Night. Carver died on 4 August 2020 at the age of 68 at home in Cranbrook.
