Biography

Italian mineralogist and Professor of mineralogy at the Faculty of Geological Sciences at the University of Florence since 1930, who headed the CNR's geochemical centre. He was the author of various studies on Vesuvius and the island of Elba. He was a member of the Lincei Academy and the Academy of Sciences of Turin. He died on Florence on 16 January 1983, aged 82.
