Luigi Capuana


Italian author and journalist and one of the most important members of the Verist movement. He was also one of the first authors influenced by the works of Émile Zola, French author and creator of Naturalism. He was the author of plays, stories, novels and various other theatrical works. Capuana also wrote poetry in Sicilian. He died on 29 November 1915 at age 76 in Catania, Sicily.
