Biography
Dominican actor who moved to Mexico in the late 1960s, where he worked in television, cinema and theatre. He mostly played antagonist roles.
Cámara was born to a family of artists. His mother was the Spanish actress Lolita Lázaro, while his father was an American living in Puerto Rico. His brother Francisco was a dancer.
He migrated to Venezuela where married the actress Elisa Parejo, with whom he had three children: the actors Carlos Cámara Jr., Víctor Cámara and Lolita Cámara Parejo. The marriage ended in divorce. He later remarried and had another daughter, Norma Cámara.
Cámara died in Mexico City on 24 February 2016, aged 82.
