Source Notes
Daath, his younger colleague, in MA, 12/1899, give date of birth 20 April 1828, 10 am.
http://records.ancestry.com/luke_broughton_records.ashx?pid=20335137 has the same date of birth.
The book The Secret Architecture of Our Nation's Capit… (Paperback) by David Ovason says on page 96: "He was born in Leeds on April 29, 1828". As this is not an astrological book, less attention may have been given to the exactness of the birth date.
Sy Scholfield quotes same data in "PREDICTED HIS OWN DEATH.: Dr. Broughton's Horoscope but One Day Out of the Way," Washington Post, 24 Sep. 1899, p. 1.
In his book 'The Elements of Astrology' a chart labeled 'for the time of birth of the late Dr. L.D.Broughton' is shown, with date 28 April 1828, 10 am. But the chart is actually computed for 20 April 1828.
