Her birth name was Dejarny (or de Jarny) because her father was the famous actor and member of the Comédie-Française, Louis Paul Edouard Brindeau (1814-1882) who did not marry her mother, Adrienne Dejarny. She was the mistress of Anatole France.
Jeanne Brindeau died on 6 April 1946 in Paris.
