Biography

French composer and violinist, noted as one of the most prolific composers of chamber music for wind instruments. Bozza's large ensemble works include five symphonies, operas, ballets, large choral work, wind band music, concertos, and many works for large brass or woodwind ensembles. His larger works are rarely performed outside his native France.

Eugène Bozza married twice and had two children. He died on 28 September 1991 at age 86 in Valenciennes, France.

Previously, AA database quoted 2 April from Gauquelin, Vol. 4, No. 1628, and CURA [1] which gives 08:50 GMT (and as Nice was on Paris LMT, so probably 09:00 Paris LMT), it's safer to give the time as GMT. Gauquelin gives 2 April, but all other sources (e.g. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eug%C3%A8ne_Bozza) give 4 April.
