Biography
French surgeon and politician, who was professor of anatomy and head of physiology at the Reims School of Medicine, and honorary surgeon of hospitals and the cancer treatment centre. By ministerial decree of 15 April 1942, he was appointed Mayor of Reims until 17 August 1943. From 11 July 1944, as a municipal councilor, he again served as mayor during the deportation of Henri Noirot. He married Émilie Mennesson (1884-1973). Joseph Bouvier died on 28 September 1978, aged 95.
