French naval engineer and writer.

Blond was a naval engineer enlisted in the French Navy during the early stages of WW II.

He was strongly anti-British and published a highly critical book, as a result he was one of a handful of French political writers accepted by Nazi German. His books continued to be printed under the Vichi government. He became a writer for a collaborationist journal but sensing that Nazi defeat was imminent, he and his group wanted to de-emphasize associations with Nazism and instead concentrate on literature.

His link to collaboration damaged Blond's reputation in the initial post-war period and his name appeared on a blacklist in September 1945. He suffered dégradation nationale (stripping of rank) in 1949 for his involvement in collaboration. Nevertheless Bond became a widely read and published author receiving widespread attention and praise.
