Biography
Spanish cubist painter. Blanchard was the daughter of journalist Enrique Gutierrez Cueto and Concepción Blanchard Santisteban. Her mother suffered a fall while getting out of a cab while pregnant. As a result of this accident Mary was born with various disabilities, she was small in stature, hunchbacked and unable to walk. This deformity resulting from a cifoscoliosis with double deviation column, will condition from its birth its destiny and devotion to their work. Her illness made her obsessively shun photographers, so there are very few photographs of the artist. As a lover of beauty, she suffered with her deformity to a great degree. In Paris he shared home and study with Diego Rivera and Angelina Belof.
