Biography
Chilean painter, the son of French immigrants, who was one of the youngest students of Fernando Álvarez de Sotomayor and among the circle of painters of the Generación del 13 (Generación del Trece; The 13 Generation).
He travelled to Europe in 1914 to take part in the First World War on the side of France and was killed in the Loretto Battle on 25 May 1915 at the age of twenty.
Bertrix's works have been exhibited and honoured several times posthumously. Several of his paintings are owned by the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes.
