French criminal, a.k.a. "Edmond," sentenced to death and executed in France.
He became the lover and pimp of a prostitute, Marie-Ange Dupont, and also the leader of a gang of burglars. On 20 December 1945, he strangled a woman in order to plunder an apartment. On 29 December 1945, on an isolated road, he shot her husband. Marie-Ange was sentenced to five years in prison for receiving stolen goods.
Sentenced to death on 28 November 1949, Berthet was executed by guillotine in Paris on 9 May 1950, dying at 4:20 a.m.
