André Berley (Portrayed top far right on poster for "The Passion of Joan of Arc," 1929)


French stage and film actor, who began his on-screen career in the landmark 1928 silent film "La Passion de Jeanne d'Arc" (The Passion of Joan of Arc) by Carl Theodor Dreyer, playing Jean d'Estivet. Then, under a contract with the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, he lived for almost a year (around 1930) in Hollywood, where he shot alternate French versions of seven American films.

He died at 4pm on 26 November 1936 in Paris, aged 46.
