Biography

German lawyer, the first female lawyer in Prussia, and the co-founder of the Association of Women Jurists and Association of German Women Academicians. After completing her studies Margarete Berent worked in various law offices in Berlin. In addition, Berent took care of private clients every year and was a member of the community Habonim. She lectured until the end of her life, dying on 23 June 1965, aged 77, in New York.
