Biography

French painter and lithographer, one of the most gifted and best trained French artis at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. A large part of his work is found in museums, among them the Louvre and the Musée d'Orsay in Paris. He received the title of Peintre de la Marine on 22 February 1896, and became 'chevalier de la Légion d'honneur' in 1911. He died 1923, 70 years old.
