Biography

Dutch cellist, conductor, a prominent lesbian and a member of the Dutch Resistance during World War II.

Frieda was the daughter of the pianist Aron Belinfante (28 May 1870, Amsterdam – 2 February 1924, Amsterdam) and Georgine Antoinette Hesse (18 April 1878, Amsterdam - 5 October 1961, Amsterdam),who married ‎26 July 1900 (29 Tamuz 5660) in Amsterdam. They divorced on 2 October 1917 16 Tishrei 5678) in Amsterdam.

Frieda descended from a line of Portuguese Sephardic Jews who arrived in Holland in the 17th century and whose ancestry can be traced back to 16th-century Portugal. Other well-known descendants include the writers Emmy Belinfante (23 March 1856 - ), Isaac Cohen Belinfante, Jewish theologian Moses Cohen Belinfante and the journalist Emilie Belinfante (11 January 1875, Den Haag -7 July 1944, Auschwitz-Birkenau).

The German Wiki mentions her in:Verfolgung.

Auf die Täter wurde eine Belohnung von 10.000 Gulden ausgesetzt, und durch Verrat wurden die meisten beteiligten Personen verhaftet und verurteilt. Am 18.
