Jeanne Behrend

Biography

American pianist, music educator, musicologist and composer, who made her performance debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra in 1922 and at Carnegie Hall in 1937, playing one of her own compositions. Beside her worked as a pianist and composer Behrend taught music at Juilliard, the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music, and Temple University.

She married twice. Behrend died in Philadelphia on 20 March 1988, aged 76.
