Biography
Canadian professional ice hockey centre who played 17 seasons in the National Hockey League for the New York Rangers, Toronto Maple Leafs, Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins.
In 1952 he had surgery to implant a steel plate at his knee. His hockey career continued after the surgery until his retirement from the game in 1975.
