French politician, she was a member of the French National Assembly.

During WWII, she was arrested on April 13, 1943 in Montluçon for her resistance efforts and sentenced to six years in prison. Her health was badly affected by the terrible conditions she endured in prison.

Freed in 1945, she was elected to the National Assembly in October that year and won re-election in subsequent years.

She and her husband had one daughter; they divorced in 1946.

She committed suicide on 1 March 1952 in Paris.
