American movie actor, stage actor, and acting teacher, who worked in a Vaudeville comedy duo with comedian Jack Pearl. In film, Bard was typecast as a "Suave Heavy"—a smooth-talking, well-dressed fellow with a dark side, such as in his portrayal of "Mr. Brun" in The Seventh Victim (1943).

In the 1930s, he ran a leading Hollywood acting school, Ben Bard Drama. He became the head of the New Talent Department at Twentieth-Century-Fox in September 1956, eventually resigning in August 1959. He re-opened his school, Ben Bard Drama, in 1960.

He married three times, to the actresses, Ruth Roland, Roma Clarisse (they had three children) and Jackie Lynn Taylor. Bard died in Los Angeles on 17 May 1974, aged 81.
